Success comes in measures. This is something which socialite Shina Peller is aware of. Known to be a successful businessman, there was always more to achieve despite his exploits both in the oil and gas and hospitality industries.

His foray into politics was one which was initially full of doubt being a greenhorn. However, his chances improved when he won the primaries of his constituency making him one of the new bright lights likely to be a part of the 9th assembly. Winning the election, however, sealed it all for the amiable lad.

Days back, following his inauguration, the fair-complexioned man was hosted to a surprise party by his beautiful wife Ayobola Peller, as friends and well-wishers gathered to celebrate with him.

Attended by notables both in the society and entertainment industry, the shindig which held at Jake’s Restaurant in Abuja saw some of Peller’s closest friends and associates including Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun and Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun popular as IBD Dende in attendance.

Though the man might not be where he used to be financially, having not been ranked in recent years by Forbes Africa among the continent’s top billionaires, this has not reduced him one bit.

Having established himself in the Oil and Gas industry with his 75 percent stake in Forte Oil, he got tired of the game and sought a new playing ground.

Although he did not give the details of the iron that he is set to bring out of the fire, he took to Instagram to announce that it is his biggest deal ever. Indeed, this is a big win for him.

The duo of Maurice Iwu, former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Abdullahi Babalele, the son-in-law of Atiku Abubakar would agree.

Recently remanded for finance-related issues, they were both stripped of privileges of mingling and associating freely.

While Iwu was in remand for an alleged N1.23bn fraud, Babalele was held for his role in a money laundering case said to be in the tune of $140,000.

 

Now free, both men will appreciate their newfound freedom.

It might take weeks, months or even years, but eventually light overcomes darkness.

 

For Winifred Oyo-Ita, it appears the ghost of her past eventually caught up with her.

 

Regarded as one of the most powerful women in Nigeria being the Head of Service of the Federation, an alleged N3bn contract scam said to have happened several years ago when she was a Federal Permanent Secretary under the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs is currently haunting Oyo-Ita.

Recently grilled by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for hours, she immediately checked into an undisclosed hospital in Abuja for medical attention.

 

Currently a major talking point in political circles, there is still a possibility that she may keep another date with the Ibrahim Magu-led EFCC.
