Reggae Musician Ras Kimono Goes Home Today

Fans will have the final opportunity to say farewell to legendary Reggae musician, Ras Kimono today.

The road to his burial started on Friday, August 17, with a wake-keeping at his last residence at Abiodun Bello Street, Isheri-Magodo, Lagos state.

Present at the event were notable industry stakeholders including Tony Okoroji, Gospel singer Buchi, Daddy Showkey and others.

After a weeklong event to celebrate and honour the musician, his remains arrived Asaba, Delta State on Thursday, August 23, while the Rastas Confraternity of Africa also led a procession to his Cenotaph in Asaba on Friday, August 24.

The final resting place of the musician known for hit songs such as ‘Kimono De Want’, ‘Gimmie Likkie Sugar’, ‘Natty Get Jail’, ‘Under Pressure’, ‘Rub-A-Dub Master’ and others is his hometown of Onicha-Olona in Aniocha-North LGA of Delta State.

Ras Kimono died in the month of June at the age of 60, after a brief illness.
