Olusoji Akinwande Cheats Death

Death is inevitable. Even the Holy Bible acknowledges this fact. Hence, Ecclesiastes three verse two says “There is a time to be born and a time to die.”

But there are men with the grace to cheat death. Olusoji Akinwande, Managing Director of Chevron Corporative Society is one of such men.

With just days to his 45th birthday, the chartered accountant escaped death when he was involved in a ghastly accident along Benin expressway bypass in Edo State.

Despite his car somersaulting, Akinwande came out from the ruins unscathed and cheating death.

On his birthday, while thanking God for sparing his life, he also unveiled the Olusoji-Akinwande Development Foundation, a vehicle for the expression of gratitude to God, and for the development of people and the nation.

The duo of Maurice Iwu, former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Abdullahi Babalele, the son-in-law of Atiku Abubakar would agree.

Recently remanded for finance-related issues, they were both stripped of privileges of mingling and associating freely.

While Iwu was in remand for an alleged N1.23bn fraud, Babalele was held for his role in a money laundering case said to be in the tune of $140,000.

 

Now free, both men will appreciate their newfound freedom.

For Winifred Oyo-Ita, it appears the ghost of her past eventually caught up with her.

 

Regarded as one of the most powerful women in Nigeria being the Head of Service of the Federation, an alleged N3bn contract scam said to have happened several years ago when she was a Federal Permanent Secretary under the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs is currently haunting Oyo-Ita.

Recently grilled by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for hours, she immediately checked into an undisclosed hospital in Abuja for medical attention.
