The social life of Olaitan Bankole, wife of the former fifth most important man in Nigeria, Dimeji Bankole, can best be described as one that was nipped in the bud.
Those who still remember her foray into the social arena would remember the lady as the naïve young woman, who attended social gathering in the company of her equally young and stylish husband, looking out of place in her hurriedly done makeup and her ill-fitted dress.
However, overtime, she became an item to admire at parties, as she gradually learnt how to adjust to the new environment and position she had found herself.
Unfortunately for her, just when she was becoming a style icon to reckon with, her husband was sent packing from office having lost the election that was supposed to return him to Segun Williams.
While the development was a major disappointment for Mr. Bankole, it was more like a blow below the belt for his wife, who at that time, was worming her way into the hearts of elite socialites, party kings and wives of governors as she simply receded back to where she was coming from, the doldrums of a typical housewife.
Though Demeji Bankole is said to be eyeing the gubernatorial seat of Ogun State come 2015, as he tries to re-launch his political career, his wife Olaitan, would definitely be hoping her husband wins the election so that she can return to the burgeoning life she was adapting to before it was snapped out of her hand.
