The popular saying is that “charity begins at home.”
This saying is so popular that it is natural to assume that it is known to all.
However, this assumption is wrong, as it is unknown to one man, Anofiu Elegushi, the acting Commissioner of Transportation in Lagos State.
Unknown to Elegushi, he has become a subject of mockery in his estate located off Salem Bus Stop, Lagos-Epe Express Road, Eti-Osa, Lekki, Lagos State.
The reason why Elegushi has become a subject of mockery is basically because of the deplorable condition of his street. The street which bears the name of the Commissioner Olanrenwaju Elegushi is unfortunately an eyesore.
So bad is the two kilometer road that visitors have been asking if the commissioner who has a gigantic edifice on the street really resides there.
