Why I Don’t Have Any Artistes-9ice
Alapomeji Ancestral Records boss, 9ice, has revealed why he doesn’t have artistes of his label.
According to him, there are always issues when a label picks up an artiste, there are always argument and the act ends up leaving either willingly or unwillingly.
Explaining that his style has always been about providing a platform for artistes, 9ice said what he does when an artiste has a good song is to allow him to drop it on his label.
“I have a record label, if you have a song that I feel is good enough, I will support you, shoot the video for you, get it promoted. If you now feel you are strong enough to stand on your own, I will let you go.”
9ice added the biggest cause of misunderstanding between artistes and labels is that most record labels conclude after the years signed that they have not recouped their investment, while the artistes maintain the number of years they signed is complete and they need to move on.
