What Amaju Pinnick Said About Coronation Of Omoba Tshola Emiko As Olu of Warri

Amaju Pinnick has spoken on the coronation of Omoba Tshola Emiko as the new Olu of Warri.

Pinnick, the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), spoke during an interview on ‘Your View’, a programme on Television Continental (TVC).

Speaking during the interview which aired on Friday, August 20, Pinnick described the Olu of Warri in waiting as an embodiment of tradition, adding that he is well-loved by his people.

He said: “I have known him for over 30 years and the people are happy with him and the coronation. You should have seen the walk we had this morning, people were coming out to be with him. It was obvious that they love him. ”

On how the coronation event will take place, Pinnick said it will start with a boat regatta at Ode Ishekiri.

Pinnick also stated that a Marquee which can seat 3000 people is already on the ground for guests, adding that personalities such as the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III,  the Ooni of Ife Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi, erstwhile Presidents of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, and Olusegun Obasanjo among other notable people would grace the coulourful event. He also stated that the Oba of Benin would be sending a high-power delegation to grace the coronation.

On the controversial missing crown, Pinnick said: “We are moving with time, we might have a new crown, and when we find the old crown we will keep it in the archive.” He also said that there would be reconciliation among the divided interests as soon as the coronation is done.

“There will be reconciliation, that is what the Itsekiri are known for.”
