For the typical Nigerian politician, the act of giving out fishes instead of teaching the act of fishing for them is peculiar.

But this is not the style of Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, the chairman House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora.

Hon. Akande-Sodipe is popular for her acts of empowerment, philanthropy and impartation to all and sundry.

Recently preaching a message of gender equality, the lawmaker called for more participation of women and youths in politics.

The Oluyole Federal Constituency Representative at the Green Chambers noted that women have inherent leadership skills that could provoke desirable change in the development of their immediate society and the nation, at large.

She called on other women to join her in the commitment to contribute to positive change.

“Our Party must dignify our women by giving them the opportunity to thrive in politics and run for elective posts. This will encourage rapid development of our party because women have an inbuilt gift to develop things.”
