South Africa To Blame For Delay In Evacuation Of Nigerians-Abike Dabiri-Erewa

The Chairman of Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has blamed South Africa for the delay witness in evacuating Nigerians from the country.

Addressing journalists at the Hajj and Cargo terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Aircraft (MMIA), Lagos, she confirmed that the delay in the arrival of the evacuation flight, blaming it on the South African authorities.

Though there was speculations that some protesting South Africans prevented the bus conveying the Nigerians from going to the Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, Dabiri-Erewa could not confirm it.

According to her, ‘ the delay of Nigerians from departing from south Africa was due to clearance issues from South African authorities. Which ever way, we know they’re coming today.’

The estimated time of arrival for a Boeing 777 from South Africa to Nigerians is about six hours.
