The crisis trailing embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, has taken a new development.
Onnoghen was this evening suspended by President Mohammadu Buhari who has since announced Tanko Mohammad, as the new Chief Justice in acting capacity

Explanation his action, the President while reading his speech during the swearing-in of the new CJN who is from Bauchi State said that the decision was taken following an order of the Code of Conduct Tribunal issued on Wednesday 23rd January 2019, directing the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
The new CJN who is next in line to Justice Onnoghen, was sworn-in at the Council Chambers, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, confirmed the suspension on twitter. He wrote.
