President Barack Obama congratulates Team USA
President Barack Obama, has congratulated the American soccer team for qualifying for the next stage of the on-going world Cup, Brazil 2014.
The President, congratulated the team in a gathering of Americans.
Addressing the gathering, President Obama said “We were in the toughest grouping, and we got through.”
Team America qualified for the round of 16 despite defeat to Germany in Recife on Thursday, June 25.
The American National team finished runners up in Group G to Germany and qualified for the knockout rounds for the fourth-time in their history.
The USA will now play Belgium on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET in Salvador, as Klinmann’s men produced one of the best group stage displays in their World Cup history.
