Ondo 2020 Live: Distribution Of Election Materials Commences***As Reports Of Capsized Boat Causes Tension
Ahead of the election in Ondo State today, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of election materials from Registration Area Centre (RAC) to polling units.
The Octopus News can report that one of such distributions happened inside Stella Marris College, Okitipupa.
Also, security officials are on standby, as transportation of election materials commences.
At some polling units assessed, officials of INEC and security agencies were seen set for the exercise.
As early as 7.22 am, they had started taking charge of the process. In some areas also, a list of voters was seen being pasted by the officials.
Meanwhile, a boat ferrying electoral materials and election officials to pollinga polling center reportedly capsized.
According to reports reaching us, the boat capsized in Ilaje Local Government area.
A video recording posted on social media showed some individuals with life jackets floating on the water in the heat of the ensuing confusion, although the legitimacy of the video being from the Ondo election could not be ascertained.
