The music industry has lost one of its stars in multi award winning songstress Kefee Obareki Don Momoh.

Popularly known as the “Branama Queen”, the late Kefee died in the early hours of Friday, June 13, several days after being kept alive on a life support machine.

Femi Salawu, a former Public Relation person of the songstress and her UK manager Adeline Adelicious Adedayo confirmed her demise, although her family members are yet to make any public comment related to her death.

A statement released by Adedayo on behalf of the family stated thus “It is with a great sadness but grateful hearts that we announce the passing to glory due to lungs failure this morning of our God’s mouth piece, chorus leader, daughter, wife, sister, friend Kefee Branama Queen. May her beautiful, gentle and precious soul rest in perfect peace. ”

The statement, further stated that contrary to earlier rumours in circulation that the singer was six months pregnant and had pre-eclampsia neither was true.

The singer, died after falling into a coma aboard a plane bound for Chicago, America forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles for doctors to attend to her.
She was on her way to perform in a show when the incident happened.

Prior to her death there had been speculation over her chances of survival, as doctors attending to her had stated that the probability of coming out of the comma were slim forcing her husband to ask friends and well-wishers to pray for her recovery.

The late Kefee, rose to stardom years back. She was discovered as a choir member, groomed and managed by Alec Godwin, who eventually became her husband. Some of the late singer’s popular songs includes chart topping track ” Kokoroko”, “Thank You My God”, “Celebrate” in which she featured YQ and LKT, ” Branama”and many others.
