For fast rising gospel musician, Psalms David, there is the need to change the face of the genre.
Formerly known as Zbyte, the artiste whose real name is Onukwugha Onyekachi Stanley has rebranded and unveiled a new moniker.
Currently promoting his new song and video titled ‘Ginikachi’, the single is definitely enjoying rave reviews, even as the singer ascribes his transition to gospel music as being divine.
In a chat with Juke Box, the bespectacled Psalms David explained the need to change gospel music in Nigeria.
“Sorry to say this, I think the gospel genre is empty, but with some big names. I think the secular world is big with big names and they are maintaining it a whole lot. Being someone that moved from secular to gospel, I’m trying to put some fame in it and give gospel a new look and get the opportunities I’m gearing for,” he told us.
The former Premier Records and Afro hip-hop singer who is gearing up for a tour of Australia ascribed his uniqueness to a lack of replica for who he is and what he does, insisting that though his content in gospel is different, the flow remains the same.
