One of Africa’s living legends, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, has been speaking on the secret to her successful music career.
Advising young artistes while speaking during the Africa Music Business Summit, a programme in the ongoing All Africa Music Award (AFRIMA), Chaka Chaka said that she was able to become success because she kept her pants tight and created her own kind of music.
Speaking to a hall full of entertainers from all of Africa and representatives of the African Union (AU) including Hon Catherine Afeku, Ms. Angela Martins and Mrs. Amira Elfadil, Chaka Chaka received a loud ovation when she asked artistes managers and show promoters to stop asking female talents for sexual favours and promote their artistes as they should.
She also advised artistes to stop thinking they can only become successful if they date their manager and other industry players.
The woman who is known for several music hits stated that if an artistes is talented and and carves a niche for himself, he or she is most likely going to be successful.
