Kano State Governor, Ganduje has revealed that his administration is committed to the fight against corruption.

Ganduje revealed this during a visit to the state’s public complaint and anti-corruption commission on Saturday, August 15.

Stating that he will not be involved in the prosecution of any political office holder in the state, the governor said:

“Whosoever falls into the commission’s trap should face the consequence. I will have nothing to do with it. I will not interfere with any case whosoever might be involved.

“With the way corruption is fighting back and the fight against corruption being an agenda of President Muhammad Buhari, the federal government cannot fight it alone. It needs domestication in the states and the local governments to succeed,” he said.

Recall that the Centre for Public Trust (CPT), a non-governmental organisation based in Abuja recently commended Governor Gaduje for recently establishing the Kano state anti-corruption institute.

In a letter addressed to the governor, the group congratulated him for what it described as bold and novel initiative that is capable of transforming the governance landscape in the state.

The group described the new anti-corruption institute as a useful training arena for all arms of government and other stakeholders to research and learn towards evolving a homegrown anti-corruption approach that reflects the peculiarities of the Nigerian context especially Kano state.
