HRM. Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo Host Well Wishers In A Colorful Royal Reception

Former Chairman of the Lagos State Inland Revenue Service (LIRS), Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, has ascended the throne as the new Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Epe, Lagos State.

By hierarchy, the Alara is a paramount ruler in Epe as well as the permanent vice chairman of the Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

Following the demise of the longest reigning monarch who spent 58 years on the throne, His Royal Majesty, Oba Akeem Okunola Adesanya II, Alara of Ilara in Epe division of Lagos who died two years ago at the age of 74, a new Alara of Ilara has emerged.

The accountant, who was presented by the Council of Obas last year as the chosen one to the throne, is from the Telade family, and was chosen from eight contestants each from other ruling houses.

Among the dignitries that attended the occasion were the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu at the home of the king at Ilara town in Epe.

Other Councils’ Executive Chairmen such as Mayor Dele Oshinowo (Agboyi-Ketu), Hon. Adeniyi Saliu (Eredo), Hon. Shamsideen Adenuga (Ikosi-Ejinrin), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada (Ikosi-Isheri) and Hon. Adedoyin Adesanya (Epe) as well as other notable politicians and administrators were there present.

The guests received a first class Royal event treatment as the new monarch made vivifying arrangements for the Royal reception to honour friends, associates and family.

As part of the activities preceding his coronation as the 55th Alara, Oba Ogunsanwo was presented to the Council of Obas on Tuesday at the Epe Council Chambers, Itamarun, in the Epe Local Government Area.
