The Ogun State Government has banned members of the National Road Transport Workers (NURTW) from collecting dues and revenues on behalf of the government at the motor parks and garages.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun on Sunday, February 7.

In a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Abdulwaheed Odusile, the governor told the leadership of the NURTW and their operatives to stay away from all parks and garages in the state.

The governor said security agencies have been ordered to arrest and prosecute any NURTW member that goes against the warning.

The state government disclosed that the warning became necessary in view of intelligence reports by the security agencies that the union is planning to resume collection revenues at the motor parks in the state.

The statement recalled that the activities of NURTW were suspended at motor parks due to the leadership crisis in the union.
