Controversy Trails Ojodu Local Government Chairman, Julius Olumuyiwa Oloro *** Details Of How He Allegedly Sold Ojodu Sunday Market

The Chairman of Ojodu Local Government, Julius Olumuyiwa Oloro seems to be prone to controversies that has to do with embezzlement and misappropriation of public funds.

The man, is currently being alleged of selling the popular Sunday Market located at Ojodu, Ikeja, Lagos State to a financial institution which is set to commence construction work next year. As it is presently, the traders have been asked to vacate the market.

www.theoctopusnews.com, was informed of how traders in the market embarked on a peaceful protest on Tuesday, September 17, protesting the connivance of the head of the market (Iya Oloja) and the Chairman to sell off the market.

Some of the traders who spoke to us revealed that Oloro was simply wicked, as his intention is basically to render bread winners useless. Another protester told us that the Sunday Market has always been there before the Chairman came into office, as he wondered why he wanted to sell it. Yet another person said, before Oloro there were several people who occupied the same office and they never thought of selling the market.

Oloro, is not new to controversies, as investigations revealed that the monies his government has received since he became Chairman are as follows : From 1st March 2011 to December 31st 2011, a total sum of N317m and from 1st January 2012 to 31st Dec. 2012, a total sum of N729m. Total receipts as at 31st Dec is about N1.9 billion.

Our source revealed that despite the said sums, he has nothing to show as his expenditure in form of infrastructures and development in the local government.

As part of Oloro’s alleged crimes barely three months in office, he bought over a property very close to Beulah Hotel in Oke-Ira, Ogba, Lagos State which he dismantled and within six months built a palatial mansion believed to be worth N25 million.

He also erected two bungalows on two plots of land in his home town in Ikere-Ekiti also said to be worth millions of naira. He is also alleged to be building a hotel somewhere in the Mowe area of Ogun State. All these www.theoctopusnews.com learnt he is doing with public funds.
