His name might not strike the right chord in the entertainment industry but this handsome dude who simply goes by the name CKY is another entrant in the esoteric world of entertainment to reckon with.
A good inventor is one who creates a product but a great inventor is one who creates a product that meets the market’s demand and satisfies its end users. CKY will better fill the spot of the latter as he sings his way into the hearts of music lovers.
Born Oribhabor Collins, CKY is a rapper, singer and song writer. A graduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) who hails from Edo State. He has been a singer for over a decade now but on the low key practicing his steps and refining his act.
After living in and keeping his ears open to the desire of the street, he broke silence with two promotional songs titled: ‘Oti Bembe’ and ‘Best Ever’. Two songs that have been warmly welcomed by a growing fan base.
‘O ti Bembe’ speaks the language of the street where it came from; to the enjoyment of all street music lovers. It connects to and talks with the street. Both ears and hearts.
‘Best Ever’ is a melodic rap song with a sensational sound production, rhythmic bit rate and well-organized lyrics. The kind of wordings that really make music different from ordinary sensible sound.
When asked why he’s coming out now having registered his presence about five years ago, he has this to say “I started singing professionally a year before I gained admission into UNILAG, I thought it was something I could cope with but I later realized that my course of study and music are not in any relation, so I decided to face my studies and left the music industry. Now, I am done with my schooling, and the next thing for me to do is to pick that music career of mine where I left it years ago.”
Does the wait worth it? Sure it did with these two songs that will make you feel on top of the world, you cannot but thumb up CKY for a job well done. CKY intends to shoot a video before the end of we hit the third quarter of this year. He said he has more to offer his fans, let’s keep our fingers crossed.
