Known for his exploits in several sectors including oil and gas, the tag of a fugitive never fitted Benny Peters. However, that was what the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), had labeled the Aiteo Group boss.
So bad was the situation that anytime his name was mentioned in a negative light, his allies found it had to believe that it was the same person they knew that was being talked about.
The tag of a fugitive will however no longer be associated with the man who has spent quite a while out of the country bidding a day he would get a chance to present his case.
With the removal of the ‘wanted’ the EFCC attached to his name, Peters definitely fits the expression ‘as free as a bird’.
