Abduction: Sheikh Gumi Promises To Visit Kagara

Sheik Ahmad Gumi has promised to visit Kagara in Niger State.

The community is where students and staff members of Government Science College, Kagara, were abducted.

The Islamic scholar made the disclosure after visiting the governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello.

Recalls that an undisclosed number of students were abducted in a raid by suspected armed bandits.

Shehu Sani, a former Nigerian senator via Twitter on Wednesday, February 17, confirmed the attack on the school which is his alma mata.

The activist stated that some staff members of the institution were also abducted by armed men. Sani said he has spoken with the principal of the school about the abduction.

According to Gumi, discussions with Bello were centered on several ways to help the Niger State government to find solutions to insecurity. He went on to note that he was on his way to Kebbi State but decided to stop over in Minna, to speak with the governor over the incident.

The cleric who noted that this is his first time visiting Niger described the recent abduction as unfortunate.
