Renowned international tourism operator, Omu Resort has inked a renovation contract to redevelop the Katsina Motel.
The revitalization deal approved by the Katsina Executive Council (KEC), is worth ₦2.6 Billion.

The landmark deal, a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), will see Omu Resort redeveloping the Katsina Motel and enhance its facilities and services.
The Octopus News learnt that the lease payments includes a ₦600 million payments over 10 years, while the resort generates revenue for the state government.
Insiders who are familiar with the deal also revealed that all outstanding liabilities would be settled to ensure a clean slate for the redevelopment project.

Speaking on the project, Dr. Faisal Kaita, Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning said, “This represents a landmark decision that will revive a major hospitality asset and restore it to commercial viability for the benefit of Katsina residents and visitors.”
A statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary (CPS), to the Governor of Katsina State which was sighted by The Octopus News noted that the approved PPP project aligns with Governor Radda’s broader development blueprint, “Building Your Future,” which emphasizes inclusive governance, resilient infrastructure development, and citizen-focused investments that deliver tangible benefits to Katsina State.
Furthermore, the statement revealed that the project would create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the state and encourage tourist development, thus attracting visitors to the state leading to revenue generation.
