60 Feared Dead In Adamawa State Explosion

on

An explosion in Adamawa State has left about 60 people dead.

An eye witness said the explosion hit a bar and brothel situated beside a major military base in Mubi, Adamawa State, Northern Nigeria.

Security sources  told journalists that the explosion rocked the bar and brothel which is a regular haven of fun for both civilian and military personnels.

Indications are that the explosion which happened on Sunday, May 1, around 6 pm did not affect any soldier, although reaction coming from the scene is showing that it is too early to determine whether any of the deceased was a soldier.

The bombed facility is a short distance away from the headquarters of the Special Operations Battalion (SOB) of the Nigerian army in Mubi.

The battalion is at the center of the Nigerian government’s counter-offensive against Boko Haram’s increasingly daring attacks on military and civilian targets.
