Update Collapsed School: 12 Dead, 43 Rescued

The number of casualty recorded in the collapsed school in Lagos Island has been released.

General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Adesina Tiamiyu, revealed 12 persons have been confirmed dead while 43 people have sos far been rescued from the building.

LASEMA were joined in the rescue operations by officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the police, army, and the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Lagos state were shock to hear of the collapsed building which housed an illegal school in the early hours of Wednesday, March 13.

Earlier today, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode visited the scene of the incident and commiserated with families of the victims.
