Why Baba Ijesha Will Only Serve Five Years Of His Sentence
Popular comedian, Baba Ijesha, might have been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment for sexual assault, but he will only serve five years.
Recall that on April 22, 2021, the actor was arraigned before an Ikeja Special Offences Court by the Lagos State government on a six-count charge of indecent treatment of a child, defilement of a child, sexual assault by penetration, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo convicted the actor of indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, and attempted sexual assault in a 2-hour judgement.
Baba Ijesha was however discharged and acquitted of count one and count six, which were: sexual assault by penetration and attempted sexual assault by penetration.
However, because the judgement will run concurrently, Baba Ijesha will only serve five years in prison.
