Court Sentence Baba Ijesha To 16 Years Imprisonment

After 12 months in court, popular comic actor, James Olarenwaju, also known as Baba Ijesha has been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment for sexual assault.

Baba Ijesha was sentenced to jail on Thursday, July 14, by an Ikeja Special Offences Court having been found guilty of the charges brought against him.

Recall that he was arraigned before the court by the Lagos State government on a six-count charge of indecent treatment of a child, defilement of a child, sexual assault by penetration, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault.

Though he pleaded not guilty to the charges, the presiding judge, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, ruled against him and in favour of the plaintiff.

Baba Ijesha was dragged to court having been arrested on April 22, 2021, and accused of rape and allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl. He was arraigned on June 24, 2021.

The victim is the foster daughter of comedienne, Damilola Adekoya, popular as Princess.
