The fortunes of Senator Bukola Saraki have been very irregular.
Once the first citizen of Kwara State, he rose to become the third most powerful man in the country.
Then, like a pack of ill-arranged cards, Saraki came crashing down from his exalted position leaving him rubbing shoulders with politicians whose tales of achievement dwelled more on legacies.
Like a cat with nine lives, he soon resurfaced when he was appointed the chairman of the national reconciliation committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Despite this positive achievement, Saraki’s life still revolved around his past achievement, with many pondering when the Wazirin Ilorin would announce himself fully.
Taking a cue from those pondering his big return to politics, the amiable politician recently unveiled his next ambition revealing that he would contest the 2023 presidential election.
While there are other politicians who have also announced their interest, Saraki, with his wealth of leadership experience definitely brings a sweet sensation to a sour mouth.
