The federal government of Nigeria has approved the full opening of the 104 unity schools in the country.
This was disclosed in Abuja by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, on Friday, October 2.
Adamu stated that the Unity schools could open from Monday, October 12, adding that the COVID-19 curve has been flattened.
This comes seven months after schools were closed across the country in a bid to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Adamu added that state governments and private school owners across the country, are, however at liberty to fix resumption dates and ensure that there are adequate safety measures while doing so.
He however warned that schools who do not adhere to outlined COVID-19 safety protocols, risk closure if there is an outbreak from such learning facilities.
