The latest talk in town now in Delta State is that if Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa wins the governorship election, as the political indices in the state point to anyway, he will be impeached in less than three months.

Those behind this tales by the moonlight claim that 22 out of the 29 house of assembly candidates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state are sponsored by ex-militant, Tompolo, whose cousin is Okowa’s running mate and that there is nothing he (Tompolo) will ask them to do, including impeaching Okowa, that they will not do.

“All the jeeps the 22 candidates are using to campaign was bought for them by Tompolo; he is the one sponsoring them and he is determined to see an Ijaw man as the governor of Delta State. He is on the same page with Clark (E.K) on this. Even PDP vice chairman for South south has seen the handwriting on the wall and is gradually distancing himself from PDP campaign in the state,” the storyteller, who incidentally is an APC member regaled his audience over some bottles of alcohol in a popular bar in the state capital.

Anyway, it remains to be seen if there will be any truth in the tale because it seems the opposition party has already given victory to the ruling party in the state at all levels of elections in the state from this kind of story.
