Threat to life: APC Chieftain Eze sends SOS to Buhari, IGP

***As Abe threatens to kill him, wipe out his family

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has sent out an urgent SOS to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, to come to his aid and protect him from threats to life against him by Senator Magnus Abe and his hooligans.

Eze, a well known apostle of good governance and a chieftain of the APC in Rivers state, in a statement issued and circulated in Port Harcourt on Sunday, alleged that some followers of the Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Senator Magnus Abe, had called him and threatened that his entire family would be wiped out for his utterances against Magnus Abe.

Eze, a one-time spokesman of the defunct new Peoples Democratic Party, (nPDP), has vehemently campaigned against the actions of Senator Abe, which eventually led to the APC in Rivers State unable to field any candidate in the last election. An outcome Eze had been saying Abe was working towards all along as a PDP mole in APC stationed to ruin all the fortunes of APC in Rivers State, employing every known and unknown betrayal tactics even making the betrayal act of Judas Iscariot a childish act for his selfish, destructive, gunpoint and untoward ambition; a selfish and ambitious man who will do anything for power.

“Senator Magnus Abe has been angry that I exposed how he teamed up with elements within and outside Rivers State to ensure that APC in Rivers state did not field a candidate in the just concluded general elections and how he has ceaselessly castigated and impugned the personality of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the immediate past Governor of Rivers state and the incumbent Minster of Transportation. This is the same man who happened to be his benefactor and mentor. I have been severally threatened by the Senator and his boys over my defense of the Minster and my exposing their plots against him by teaming up with PDP elements within and outside Rivers State to promote the candidates of PDP in the last elections including even the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar all because of a desperate hope of making Atiku’s ministerial cabinet.

“Senator Abe and his group got more incensed by the recent press statement by me, exposing how he (Abe) is assisting Governor Wike of Rivers state to recruit other Nigerians to malign and destroy the person of the Minster of Transportation so that he will not be re-nominated by President Buhari in his second term, an exercise in futility.

“Abe and his cronies have used Facebook and other social media platforms to cast aspersions on my person and even issued threatening press statements both in the past and now in a recent one reporting me to the NWC of APC  titled, ‘The Urgent Need For The National Working Committee (NWC) Of The All Progressives Congress (APC) To Call Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, The Political Grifter And His Sponsor, The Transportation Minister To Order’, issued by a phony visionless group ironically named Rivers State APC Visionary Media Team on behalf of Abe.

“To expose their intentions, the group, through one Augustine, an associate of Senator Magnus Abe and speaking for his cohorts, called me on Saturday in morning with celll number 08183636808 to say that they have set up a militia committee to monitor and kill me and all members of my family for what I am writing about their principal, Senator Abe. Using his exact words he said “you can no longer run because wherever you are we will fish you out and deal with you accordingly. We have taken enough of your madness. You may wish to report this to the IGP but he can’t secure or save you. You will know why we are called the Vultures”.

Eze further expressed surprise over the threat against his life and that of his family saying, “I don’t know what I did to warrant this type of threat, apart from exposing the plots by Abe on Amaechi. I am standing against his dirty politics of destroying APC in Rivers State. Sadly and dubiously, he wants to use the APC platform he and his cohorts have destroyed to lobby for a ministerial position or any other position within the President Buhari led APC government, the same party he worked against during both polls. I can’t stand such a horrible and devious man. Nobody should.

Though, I have reported this issue to the Rivers State Police Command appealing to them that not minding that as much as my life and that of members of my family are in the hands of God to see what they can do to ascertain why Abe and his cohorts want to kill me and eliminate my entire family.

He also highlighted that should anything happen to him or any member of his family, the Police Command should do the needful by arresting Abe to explain why we should be harmed for standing by a man (Amaechi) who made him politically.

Eze not minding reporting this issue, appealed to both President Muhammadu Buhari and the Acting Inspector General of Police, Abubakar Adamu Mohammed, to assist to investigate and secure his life and that of his family before any harm is done to them, considering the security challenges both in Rivers state and the nature of the men we are dealing with”, Eze said.

The duo of Abubakar and the PDP closed their case after calling 62 witnesses out of the 400 earlier speculated would testify in the case.

Abubakar is challenging the outcome of the February 23, presidential election on the grounds that the result of the election was manipulated to favour President Muhammad Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Closing the case, Chris Uche SAN, informed the tribunal that they would not be calling any other witness after former Osita Chidoka, the 62nd witness had finished testifying for the petitioner.

Chidoka, a former Corp Marshal FRSC informed the tribunal that he was the National Collation Agent and Head of PDP Situation Room for the February 23, 2019 presidential election.

Chidoka said he was there when the results were collated by INEC, and that it was done manually.

Though he could not disclose the serial number of the server in which results were transmitted to by party agents, however he reminded the INEC counsel that card reader was not mentioned in their meeting with Mahmood Yakubu but it was used in the election.

Responding to questions from Yakubu Maikyau, counsel to the APC, Chidoka revealed that the INEC Chairman had told him and other stakeholders during meetings prior to the 2019 general elections that they should assume the election was being conducted under the new electoral act, (which was later not signed into law).

He wondered why the commission spent a whooping N27billion on Information Technology, only to come out and tell Nigerians that it did not deploy server for the purpose of electronic transmission of election results.

Chidoka also told the tribunal that the INEC Chairman had told him that it would be immoral for the electoral body not to use electronic transmission of results after N27bn had been spent on IT facilities and equipment.

Earlier, David Nyoga from Kenya, had testified at against the election of President Muhammad Buhari.
Nyoga, an expert in information technology, told the tribunal that from his expert analysis, four websites were discovered to belong to INEC.
Upon cross-examination by counsel to Buhari, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), the witness said his analysis was based on data supplied by a whistle blower.
The witness further told the tribunal that the information contained in the report of his analysis were extracts made from three of the four websites.

He confirmed that “Fact.Com was created on March 12, against the February 23 presidential election.

Under cross examination by counsel to All Progressives Congress (APC), Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), the witness maintained that INEC chairman can authorise access to the server.

On whether he was engaged and paid for the job, the witness answered that only the logistics for the job were paid for.
“I was not paid but logistics were paid for.”
However, he admitted that he was not granted access to the site by INEC chairman.

He also admitted that the same scientific method, without authorisation, can be used to alter the information contained on the website.
