Six Years After: Have Nigerians Forgotten Goldie?

Published

on

Its been six years since the death of Susan Oluwabimpe Filani popular as Goldie.

Since her death, there have been visitations to her tombstone by selected friends and family, with some even celebrating her on social media.

However, in recent times, the trend of celebrating the late singer appears to have died down, as Nigerians appear to have forgotten her.

Her sixth death anniversary which happens to be today Thursday, February 14, has witnessed little or no activity from her old friends except Derenle Edun who paid a visit at her tombstone.

Recall that Goldie passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the age of  32. She died after returning from attending the 55th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. Family sources said that she only complained of a slight headache and was immediately rushed to Reddington Hospital, Victoria Island, Lagos where she was pronounced dead at about 10pm.

We celebrate you Goldie.
