Reps to investigate Diezani Alison-Madueke
The House of Representative has frowned at the autocratic style with which Diezani Alison-Madueke, minister of petroleum is running the ministry.
Following comments made by Madueke during an interview with Bloomberg Television in London on November 18 that the refineries in Kaduna, Warri and Port Harcourt would be sold to private investors in the first quarter of 2014, the house directed its commitees on privatisation and commercialisation, petroleum resources (downstream) and public procurement to investigate the plan by the Federal Government to sell the four-state owned refineries.
There are talks that the said sells might have been planned without the knowledge of the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) and the National Council on Privatisation (NPC).
