Retired Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Alex Ogomudia

Retired Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Alex Ogomudia, The Assistant Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lugard Osaro were among top dignitaries that deliver papers at the Nigeria Security Corporate Institute of Risk and Safety Management (CIRSM), mandatory workshop/induction and investiture that was held on Friday, November 29, 2013.

At the event that took place at the University of Lagos Conference Hall, the former Chief of Defence Staff spoke extensively on security, risk and safety management in our homes, he advised Nigerians to learn the art of protection and further advised that government should make it mandatory for each home to have fire extinguisher, so as to protect lives and properties in our society.

The retired Army general also advised those who were inducted at the event to be vibrant and resourceful, safety ambassadors and Marshals. In his own part, Osaro advised that we should all be security and Safety ambassadors anywhere we found ourselves.

Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar led other prominent personalities, such as Lugard Osaro, Assistant Director, Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Mrs. Catherine Famuse, Engr. Umoumoh U. Okon, Mr. Kufre E. Essien, Mrs. Adaobi Egwurube Mr. James Davou Gyang, Mr. Oyekunle Oyewole, Rev. Emmanuel M. Akpan among many others that were conferred with Fellowship of Safety Marshal and Administrators.

Registrar of the Institute, Mr. Daniel Umoh, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for those who graced the occasion.

CIRSM is a strategic corporate institute, whose programme promotes the lofty ideals of managing security, emergencies, disaster, hazard, industrial safety, risk, and environment management systems.
