PAOFF Maiden Award Ceremony Holds

Pan African Online Film Festival (PAOFF), an initiative of Africa’s leading digital TV operator, StarTimes held its maiden award ceremony to honor all local professional African film and music video producers on its StarTimes ON platform.

The glamorous award which took place on Friday, 6th September, 2019 at Radisson Blu Hotel, in Lagos. featured three award categories: music video category, Short film category and the favorite film category for all local professional film and music video producers.

Speaking at the ceremony, The Brands and Marketing Director StarTimes, Mr. Qasim Elegbede noted that ‘’PAOFF could be seen as a beginning for a brand-new road of the cultural development. And with a joint effort, there shall always emerge more local films and music that conveys the mystery and attraction of African culture to the whole world.

BBN: Don’t Punish Me For What I Didn’t Do, Khafi Begs

Evicted Big Brother Naija contestant, Khafi Kareem, has appealed to viewers of the reality show not to punish her for an act she didn’t do.

According to her, she never had anything intimate with Gedoni, her love interest in the house.

While the duo were in the show, they were severally involved in romps, leading to speculations that they had s*x during their stay in the Big Brother House.

In an interview with Ebuka on Tuesday, September 16th, Khafi said she never had s*x with Gedoni even though she feels a level of peace whenever she is around him.

“I felt such peace around him. I didn’t think I couldn’t be myself around him. We did not have sex. You know sex is a natural thing. If I did, I would actually say that’s what happened. I wouldn’t want to be given the penalisation or punishments for things I didn’t do. I just feel like in the house, everything is so intense so where you will get to in a relationship over three months seeing somebody and been on a date with them is like a week in the house.

The intensity seeing everybody when you wake up and when you go to sleep. I think it was after the eviction in the first week, after we were almost up that’s when our bond really grew.

The Genesis Of My Fight With Toyin Abraham-Lizzy Anjorin

Thespian, Lizzy Anjorin, has explained the genesis of her grouse with Toyin Abraham.

The in the past hours, the duo have been slamming each other with Anjorin tagging Abraham as a mere babymama who was denied by her father Pastor B.E. Aimakhu prior to his death.

Explaining the genesis of her problem with Abraham, Anjorin said that her collegue’s association with a fan who DMed an Instagram blogger to publish a fake story of her peddling drugs led to her faceoff with the new mother.

Recall that Anjorin recently travelled to Saudi Arabia, and there was a scene at the airport when she landed.

Explaining that she was taken to a different section of the airport because she was an actress, Anjorin said the action was  wrongly interpreted that the fan who mistook the action for a drug search.

Anjorin also revealed that a Saudi immigration official told her that some Nigerians send in petitions against their compatriots, accusing them of peddling drugs and other offences.

According to her, Abraham’s association with the peddler of the negative report was what led to her anger, and the subsequent exchange if words.

Like Monalisa Chinda: LIRS Goes After Iyabo Ojo As Actress Begs For Mercy

The Lagos Inland Revenue Service (LIRS), having established its war against tax evasion among celebrities with a case against Monalisa Chinda, has gone after Iyabo Ojo.

The LIRS is urging the thespian who own a chain of businesses under the Fespri brand name in Lekki, Lagos State to pay the sum of N38 million as tax.

The brand name Fespris was registered in 2016 with the business line including a spa, salon, and facial palour. In 2019, the business was expanded with a restaurant and a lounge added to the business line.

The actress is however complaining over her allegedly accrued personal income tax of N38 million.

The movie star took to her Instagram account on September 12 to lament the tax debt levied on her, calling the atyention of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

In a now deleted post on Instagram, the actress stated that she was contemplating shutting down her Fespris chain of businesses, adding that she is making little or no profit from it.

Describing the tax slammed on her as outrageous, she wondered how the tax officials arrived at the sum for her Personal Income Tax.
