Jolly good fellows are always happy, even during tribulations. When the smile doesn’t play boldly on their faces, there is always that glint of happiness in their eyes.

Presently one of the most witch-hunted politicians in Nigeria, this has however not stopped Senator Rochas Okorocha from being a happy man.

Once the first citizen of Imo State, Senator Okorocha, was loved by his people such that the slogan ‘My People My People, My Governor, My Governor’ became synonymous with him.

Though still a powerful man as a member of the 9th Assembly, Okorocha appears to have calmed down, as Governor Emeka Ihedioha, the new first citizen of Imo State continues what many have termed a personal vendetta against the man who holds the title of ‘Owelle’.

All of these did not stop the chubby and dark-complexioned man from having a fun-filled day  as he celebrates turning 57.

Born on 22 September 1962, in Ogboko, Ideato South, Imo State, he attended Juladaco High School, Jos between 1976 and 1981. Senator Okorocha holds a diploma in Public Administration and an advanced diploma in Public Administration from the University of Jos. He is also the founder of Rochas Foundation, a charity comprising a number of special schools spread all over Nigeria through which he extends a hand of fellowship via scholarships to the less privileged children in the Nigerian society.
