Oba Rilwan Akiolu Turns 77

The prayer of most people is to be more successful in their old age than in their youth.
Indeed, this is a worthy prayer, as a blissful old age outshines the overzealousness of youth.
One man who has had the good fortune of a prosperous old age is Oba Rilwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu, the Eleko of Eko.
A retired police officer, Oba Akiolu’s fortunes changed from good to better when he became the King of Lagos, leading the traditional affairs of one of the most prosperous states in the country.
With his clout, he enjoyed a fantasy lifestyle with all the good things of life at his beck and call.
Expected to mark his 77th birthday on Thursday, October 29, many had thought that the event won’t hold due to the attack on his palace, however the monarch had other plans, as he celebrated his special day with friends and family in a very unique way.
