The chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has assured that the duo of musicians Omah Lay and Tems will be released from the Ugandan prison in which they are currently being held.

Recall that the duo were arrested for violating the COVID-19 protocol in Uganda after performing in a show.

Since then, the duo have been moved from one prison to the other as they await their day in court.

Reacting via her Twitter handle this evening, Dabiri-Erewa wrote

”#FreeOmahLay #FreeTems . The Nigerian mission in Uganda is doing everything to get them freed. Minister @GeoffreyOnyeama has also been on the matter. @nidcom_gov is also in touch with their Lawyers.”
