Reactions and counter reactions have been trailing Trace TV since it released a statement denying Dammy Keane’s allegation that artistes pay for their video to be aired on its channels.
While Trace TV denied the allegations, artiste managers and entertainment promoters have confirmed the position of the artiste saying he wasn’t lying.
The concluding part of 2017, saw Nigerian singer, Dammy Krane calling out Trace TV’s Nosa Omoregie and Sam Onyemelukwe accusing them of collecting money before giving artists airplay.
While distancing it self from such practices, the TV station blamed unscrupulous individuals who claim to represent Trace TV for dubiously engagingly in the act.
However, reaction from critics of the TV station who believe they have been meager with the truth is shocking. “Trace are all Liars. There explanation avoids the issue. Every TV station in Nigeria collects bribe to play your video even NTA. I manage artists. I know,” said Music Guru Guy.
Music Guru Guy is not alone, as his position was buttressed by Isoboye Tom who maintains that “Its not news, they do it always, from time immemorial, so there is no need for the TV station to deny.”
A young music lover who would not reveal his name stated thus “Not just trace TV… If you’re not Davido, Wizkid, Tubaba or the likes…. You must pay until you blow. Saying this from experience.”
Adding his voice to the topic, Danny said “Why is Dammy making noise, it’s common practice, even abroad. OK he wants the stations to give them free publicity abi ?”.
One fact which must not be forgotten is that singer Dammy Keane is not the only one who has called out staffs of Trace TV for not supporting up and conning artistes, as his claim has been supported.
Another interesting development is that after Dammy Krane deleted his tweets and apologized, he promised his fans that his music will be on the TV station the next week. Talk about issues settled in closed doors and you might just be right.
