How Minister of State, Health, Muhammed-Ali-Pate set Record in Nigerian Politics

The Minister of State, Health, Dr. Muhammed Pate, has set a record of being one of the few people in the country to voluntarily resign an appointment.
The man, on Wednesday, July 23 resigned from President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet.
In his resignation letter dated July 22 and addressed to the President, Pate said he was leaving the cabinet to take up the position of Professor in Duke University’s Global Health Institute USA in which capacity he will participate in a university-wide Africa initiative, and will also serve as Senior Adviser to Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation based in Washington DC.
Although Pate said he was resigning for another job, some people have insinuated that he might have lost interest in the government of President Goodluck Jonathan.
