Fans of Nigerian music legend, Majek Fashek, are concerned about the state of his health.

His manager, Uzoma Omenka raised alarm over the health of the singer during the week, revealing that he had been admitted for undifferentiated-type schizophrenia in a London hospital. By Google’s definition, it is a classification used when a person exhibits behaviors which fit into two or more of the other types of schizophrenia, including symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, disorganised speech or behavior, catatonic behavior.

Omenka said that Majek Fashek was flown out of Nigeria on Sunday, August 24.

“Majek was briefly on admission at a Lagos hospital before he was flown abroad. We spend a lot of money every day to keep him alive. Majek has not eaten in days and the only food he can eat has to be specially prepared.

“The truth is we are stranded here. We are in great debt and we need help urgently if we don’t want this icon to die,” Omenka posted on social media.

Fans of the ‘Send Down The Rain’ singer became more worried when former entertainment writer, Azuka Jebose claimed that the reggae artiste had been told by doctors in Atlanta about 10 years ago that he had only five years left to live due to his bad kidney.

Majek Fashek has credit for several hit albums and sold-out concerts. For years, he has battled alcohol addiction with the singer having been quoted to have said that his problem with alcohol is spiritual.
