A recent statement released by Seun Kuti and credited to his family has been described as his personal opinion.
Reacting to a statement made by American rapper, Kanye West that the spirit of Fela flows in him, Seun said “Erm erm on behalf of the Kuti family, I want to state that the spirit of Olufela Anikulapo Kuti isn’t anywhere near Kanye West.”
The statement however lost the weight it would have carried had it been an official one from Fela’s family.
In a phone chat with www.theoctopusnews.com, one of Fela’s children said “he was speaking on his own. How can it be the family’s statement, it was his own opinion,” we were told on phone.
