Honorable Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi/Isheri Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), has been indicted in the alleged threat on a reporter of an online news platform, Justnews.

According to the report, the reporter identified as Wole Adepoju was allegedly threatened for publishing a news story concerning Honourable Bada on the Justnews website, www.justnews.ng

In the said story, Adepoju reported about a petition filed against Honorable Bada in which she was accused of being insensitive for picking an Aso-Ebi worth #650.000 for her 50th birthday celebration, especially at a time when things were difficult.

In the petition by the group identified as Concerned Ikosi Isheri LCDA Resident, and signed by Comrade Ajibola Subair, she was also alleged to have made it compulsory for councilors of the council, supervisors, and workers to buy the Aso-Ebi.

Speaking with www.theoctopusnews.com, Adepoju said he was forced to raise the alarm over the threats to his life.

According to him, he got a call from an unknown caller with an unfamiliar number on Sunday, August 6, who threatened him for daring to publish the story.

“I was at home Sunday morning when I got a call. The caller asked if I was Wole Adepoju, which I confirmed, and asked what I could do for him, but rather than explain himself in the tone with which he started the conversation, he became unruly and went thus: “You are the one that wrote that Ikosi Isheri is forcing people to buy Aso-Ebi.

“I tried explaining to him that he should go read this story, and he would discover it was a petition. He interjected, and answered “And you are the one that can write?

Adepoju continued,  he went on to say “Don’t worry, you will face it squarely. Sebi, you know how to write; you will face it”.

“At this point, I tried to ask about his identity since he didn’t introduce himself, so I asked, Please, what is your name? ‘Get the fuck, he retorted, and he ended the call”, Adepoju added.

The reporter however revealed that upon running a check on the phone number that called him, he found Rof Yemisi Ilese as the registered name attached to the phone number.
