Hoodlums Unleash Terror On Amotekun Operatives

At least four operatives of the Western Nigeria Security Network popularly known as Amotekun have been rushed to the intensive care unit of University College Hospital, Ibadan.

This follows the unleashing of terror and horror by hoodlums on the operatives and policemen.

According to a report, the unfortunate incident happened on Friday, February 6, in the Ona Ara area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

The attack is believed to be related to a gang fight at Odeyale area of Ona Ara LGA.

The Amotekun commandant in the state, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (rtd), confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday.

He said there was a distress call by Odeyale Community Landlord Association to help dislodge hoodlums perpetrating violence in the community and operatives of Amotekun swung into action.

Police spokesman, Gbenga Fadeyi, also disclosed that some arrests have been, adding that investigations into the cause of the violent attacks were ongoing.

The coordinator of Amotekun operations at Ona Ara, Gbemileke Adelakun, was quoted as saying that the hoodlums attacked them with machetes and axes.
