Halimat Babagida’s Pain

One of the greatest pains of a bride is tying the nuptial knot in the absence of her mother.
The pain is even more severe when the mother of the bride is deceased.
This was the experience which Halimat the youngest daughter of Babangida faced when she got married to her man Alhaji Auwal Lawal Abdullahi, the Sarkin Sudan Gombe at her father’s Hilltop mansion in Minna, Niger State on Friday, May 12.
While the feeling of a successful event pervaded the hilltop with guests from far and near trooping to pay their respect to Babangida, there was no hiding the fact that the bride would have wished her late mother Mariam was in attendance.
