Fela’s Dancer, Dodo Mayana Was Mugged-Femi Kuti
More details are emerging on Dodo Mayana the deceased dancer of late Afrobeat King, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti who was found dead in Lagos.
Information available to www.theoctopusnews.com revealed that Dodo who sells outside the shrine was mugged at Grammar School opposite Omole estate, Lagos, while on her way home.
Dodo, a popular woman at the Afrika Shrine, was one of Fela’s dancers until his demise. She joined Femi Kuti’s band as a cage dancer before she retired and started selling drinks at the shrine
She is described as a nice and friendly person by friends and colleagues.
Dodo’s death was announced by Femi Kuti via one of his social media handles. According to him, she was mugged, as she got into a One Chance bus, on her way home, as no money nor her phone was found on her.
