Desmond Elliot’s position that Nigerian youths use social media to promote hate speech has been frowned at by entertainers in the country.

People who have reacted and frowned at the position include Uche Jombo, Don Jazzy, Simi, and several others.

During a plenary session at the Lagos House of Assembly, Elliot had said that the country would not exist in five years if hate speech continued.

However, celebrities have come for the politician with some of his old colleagues taking a public stand on the matter.

When Uche Jombo expressed her thought and a fan stated that she might not be a friend of Elliot, she tweeted:

“He’s actually a friend, I can disagree with him too because I am aware we all amplified #EndSARS as feed up Nigerians not as celebrities.”

Actress, Lala Akindoju, also shared her opinion saying: She wrote: “Honestly I’m more than disappointed in Desmond Elliot. I’m so shocked. Anyway, we have been praying that God should expose the real state of mind of our leaders. Now we know how he really processes things. I pray the people he looks forward to representing in 2023 remember today.”

Singer, Simi vented her anger when she wrote: “Cousin Desmond should have used the same energy to fight for us. Now he’s collecting money, we’re “children”. You can see it’s not about age. You can be 22 years old and wicked. “Celebrities yen yen”…they didn’t vote for celebs, they voted for you sir.”

Don Jazzy’s disappointment in Elliot appeared to have made him speechless while Skales was pretty clear about his feelings towards the actor. Praiz on the other hand, made it known that Elliot was officially ‘cancelled’.
