Singer, Emma Nyra, has explained why very few female artistes participate in African music festivals.
According to former First Lady of Made Men Music Group (MMMG), it is because they are given limited oppurtunity.
Expressing her frustration in a series of tweets on Friday, August 30, Emma Nyra asked how many times Afrobeats music festivals had featured even five female musicians.
“This is what frustrates me. Let me ask you a question. Can u name 5 female artists? How about 10? How about 20? Hopefully u answered yes. Let me ask another question. Have u ever seen a major afrobeats concert/festival or tour that features 5 or more female artists?,” she asked.
