…tasks them to pray for God’s intervention on the COVID-19 pandemic

…Says government and citizens must step up efforts to curb further spread

As Christians all over the world mark this year’s Easter Celebration in commemoration of the crucifixion, death and resurrection of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has felicitated with Christians all over Nigeria over the event.

In a statement made available to media houses, Chief Eze reminded Christians of the essence of the season and tasked them to reminisce about its core values which are hinged on love and sacrifice.

“The essence of the season is love and sacrifice. Christians all over the country must reflect on these values and imbibe them in their daily living and relationships with others” Eze said.

While commending Christians for strictly complying with government directive on social distancing and other measures to curb the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 ravaging the world, Eze appealed to governments at all levels to redouble efforts in their adopted mechanisms to cushion the effect of the lockdown on citizens.

While congratulating Christians, and in the spirit of the season, Eze appealed for prayers for the country, especially, for God’s intervention on the COVID-19 pandemic that is taking a toll on the nation.

“I congratulate Christians and task them to pray for the intervention of the Almighty over the pandemic while wishing them a peaceful Easter Celebration”, Eze said.

Eze highlighted that not minding the menace of the dreaded virus currently ravaging the world those still alive should be mindful of the importance of this season which is the celebration of the death of Christ which without mankind would have been damned and doomed. We should therefore as children of God critically examine the devastating impact of this pandemic on our lives and sympathise with those whose loved ones have been snatched by this monster.

As we mourn the dead let us in this season remember our neighbours and friends that are being tormented by the Hunger Virus that is worse than the COVID 19 pandemic and do the needful by sharing with them what God has blessed us with.

Eze finally congratulates and commends the Federal Government, most State Governments and Billionaires amongst us for their proactive interventions and efforts in providing palliatives for the suffering Nigerians and most importantly for curbing the spread of the COVID 19 in Nigeria assuring all and sundry that in the next few weeks this dreaded virus will become history.
