Domestic Abuse: Police Arrest Auto Dealer, IVD Over Wife’s Death

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of popular auto dealer, Ikechuckwu Ogbonna popularly known as IVD.

Ogbonna, 37, was taken into custody following the death of his wife, Bimbo.

IVD is currently in the custody of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Yaba, Lagos State.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest on Monday night.

Bombo reportedly died from injuries sustained from a fire incident she had a dispute with her husband in their residence in Megamound Estate, Lekki.

The couple has been in the news in recent years over domestic violence with several videos of them on the internet.

Last Wednesday, Bimbo confronted IVD over alleged repeated assault and maltreatment.

The fight resulted in their house being set ablaze. While IVD escaped with minor burns, those of Bimbo was severe.

Bimbo’s sister announced her demise on Saturday, a few days after she was rushed to the hospital.

Ikechukwu and Bimbo had been married for 16 years, with the union blessed with five children.
